Sat 28 th May and the forcast was saying sat going to be good with 18mph
sw winds and some sunshine in the aft .
Wanting an early start Batman and Robin arrived at the Knap rather early around
9am .
Surveying the scene early in morn the conversation went something like this
! " Holy shit Batman its dead southly "
"Damm ,kerplunk goes the Knap Robin " -----"Lets zapp over
to Ogmore! "
So off we goes bombed through the lanes ,texted the Bwa on the batphone .
Ogmore looked great on arrival some nice swell lines , turning into decent
waves , wind was still bit onshore but it made the river crossing a bit of
piss and we both zoomed across the mouth on 5.2m and wave boards .
Had a great 2hr rip up before Jamie ripped the fin out of the board and we
returned to shore to consider the options , wind was now going more west so
decieded to head back to Gotham City aka the Knap . Helmet just arrived as
we got in the batmobiles and decieded that he,d give the Knap a Helmet style
outing so got a spare sail ready for an Helmet style trashing .
Round 2 , The Knap arrived around 1pm with Robin and Helmet in tow .Clive ,Little air and few others rigging on the top , few others already out on the water with Little air doing a rerig down to 4.5m ! small sail for a guy who's always under powered . Robin was getting the shakes mumbling about overpowed but give him a good slap , told him little air was a BIG GIRL , and made him rig the 5 and a bit , Lent Helmet the spare Ezzy and the three looked like an ezzy demo day outing .
10mins later looked like helmet had killed another rig , but turned out his
headstrap had come undone , wind was filling in nice and a good crowd was
now turning up .
Nick the fish,Swansea Dan , Gerry can , Ye olde Fox, Woodchip, MattB(on a
5.7m must have been blowing)Del boy, and many more out ripping , waves where
small and jumps few and far between , the fish and clive got the vids going
, with the fish demo'ing the helmet mounted cam , hhmmmmm.
No tales of trashings but the guy in the 4 by 4 who drove onto the beach proved
entertaing as he tried in vain to get back up the pebbles , finally cost him
well over £110 to get recovered. All in another classic knap day , no
nominations for the BWA awards today, from me anyway !Duncan was ripping some
loops but thats nothing special from him .
