Knap Barry brief report from hearsay etc from Wen 5/4 and
myself from today Thurs 6/4/05 .
Few guys finally dusted their kit down for an outing on the Wens in the sun
and 20mph s.w. winds Nick the fish , Scotty ,twins , LITTLE Air and Paul the
woodchip giving it a go , recieved a few pics from Don the PIC of some of
the action later in the day .
Nick tells me Scotty was trying hard on the forward loops with an attempt
off nearly every jump !
Paul the woodchip arrived late when the imfamous dump was at its worst and
decieded that it was worth the risk ,mail below tells the tale ,
"Hi Kel,
Well could not resist it today,good Force-5 SW off the Knapp.
Arrived at 6.00pm same time as big Mat.
Gate locked now by council at 5.30pm so could only park buy toilets,that is
a pain in backside.
There were 2 already out who parked by the steps in the car park,I think 1
was Dave the wave,I don't know the other.
Tide was up on the pebbles and dumping big on the steep part of the beach,rigged
up with my bargain booty 4.7 Kult sail.
No problem getting out it was coming backing.Lost my footing in the dump walking
out when a big wave came crashing over the top of me snapping my bargain Gecko.
Anyway had a alright sail bit dangerous though getting out.
Mat snapped his outhaul on his rig twice,but also was struggling to get out
of the water.

As for today 6/4/05 myself , Nick the fish, Scotty and both twins out burning
it up , bit of a bad day for me with lots of failed turns etc, but as nice
to get out
Both twins buzzing in/out pulling some impressive loops of on both tacks .I,m
charged up ready for Fri now .
Point of note the car barrier is going to cause some problems
for the late arrival guys as carpark will be off limits from 5,30 with parking
only by the bogs ,
which wont be enough with old wrinklies and burger vans in way , need to petition
council for key access for the Barry Winsurf Club or whatever .
